ROLE: R&D AND TECH LEAD

For a Swiss wearable-payments company, I lead R&D on the backend behind its next stage: one platform that brings together the app's own telemetry, crash and error reports from Sentry, and the data of the tokenisation supplier, and turns them into dashboards for support, engineering and management.

One backend, three sources of truth

telemetry, Sentry and the token service

One backend, three sources of truth

telemetry, Sentry and the token service

The app reports what users experience, Sentry knows how the code fails, and the tokenisation supplier knows what happened at the card issuer. I am building one backend that joins all three by correlation id, so support, engineering and management each get answers from one place instead of three tools and a spreadsheet.

Support: from a report to the cause

for the support team

Support: from a report to the cause

for the support team

When a user sends a diagnostic report from the app, support enters its reference and sees one timeline across app telemetry, Sentry and the token service, with the likely cause and how many other users share it. Staff sign in with Microsoft Entra, every lookup is audited, and personal data never reaches the screen.

Engineering: failures in context

for developers

Engineering: failures in context

for developers

Crash-free sessions, card-setup success by transport, app-version adoption and the top issues, grouped across sources by problem code. An issuer outage shows up as one issue with its users and events, not as three unrelated alerts.

Management: the numbers that matter

for management

Management: the numbers that matter

for management

Active wearables, cards set up per card programme, token approval rates and the path from install to first payment, by country. Counts and rates only: no names, no card numbers, and card programmes are never broken down to a single card series.

Telemetry uses two separate identifiers and an allow-list, so card data cannot be stored by accident, and everything runs in Switzerland. AI agents write the code behind one OpenAPI contract; I approve every change behind 11 required checks, independent AI code and security reviews and CI-only deployments. The screens shown here are dashboard concepts with illustrative data.
